Why I'm running:
Crime has progressively worsened over the last 8 years, our streets resembling those of Chicago in the 1920s and '30s. We're facing the highest inflation rates in over 40 years, with more and more people relying on food banks and accruing debt per capita. Housing costs have doubled in the past 8 years, leaving many struggling to afford shelter. Our military is in disarray, with outdated equipment, insufficient personnel housing and accommodations. There have been constant attacks on our natural resource industry, including the cancellation of pipelines and the introduction of private member Bill C-372. Hunters and licensed lawful gun owners have faced attacks, such as the OIC in May of 2020 and the ban on handgun importation, sale, and transfer introduced in Bill C-21. Attacks on freedom of speech are evident through bills like C-11, C-18, and the passage of Bill C-63, disguised as online hate speech legislation. The inflatory carbon tax has done little to benefit the environment but has made everything more expensive. Scandal after scandal has rocked our nation, each one seemingly larger than the last. These are just some of the reasons why I am running!
